What a sexual assault organizations duties should be to its enviornment is that they should be there for vicitims of sexual assault. also they should be able to educate the people of the community about sexual assault and how to help prevent it from happening. also they should be able to inform people about what they should do if they are sexually assaulted.

I think a sexual assault Organization duties are to inform the environment about the dangers of sexual assault and ways to combat the stereotypes that hinder it. Also I believe a sexual assault organization duties is to keep the environment/community informed of their mission and services they provide

Not to sound callous, but it is not the responsibility of an organization to fight sexual assault. It is the responsibility of the individual not to expose themselves to risk, travel in groups and be aware of their surroundings. The organization can provide support, but the individual must take some personal responsibility.

More than anything else, simply raise awareness. It still amazes me that so many people just aren't aware of what constitutes rape. So many women that feel they perpetrated their attacks, and so many men that don't understand the guidelines, or don't know where that 'line' is that they shouldn't be crossing.

And support ... one of the biggest issues still is a woman choosing not to come forward out of humiliation, or feeling like she's just going to be victimized again by the system. Free range support that could include support councelling, accompanying her to the police station, to the courthouse, etc. Hotlines to call when she hits those lows that she inevitably will.

In all honesty, I suffered silently for ... oh ... the better part of 10 years, until I found an online support group. The best therepy, for me, was being able to talk openly with other women who've been through similar, and worse. And the anonymity involved in doing it over the net saved me having to feel at all humiliated. Unfortunately, that support group no longer exists, and although I don't need it anymore, I think resources like that are invaluable.

I THINK THAT THE ROLE OF A SEXUAL ASSAULT ORGANIZATION IS TO SUPPORT EVERYONE NOT JUST THE VICTIMS. I THINK THAT IF YOU ARE GOING TO CALL YOURSELF A SEXUAL ASSAULT ORGANIZATION IT IS YOUR DUTY TO RAISE AWARENESS AND NOT BE AFRAID TO DO WHAT YOU THINK IS RIGHT. THERE IS SO MUCH I THINK THAT A SEXUAL ASSAULT ORGANIZATION HAS TO DO. THEY HAVE TO BE WILLING TO TAKE THE BLAME FROM THE PEOPLE THAT THINKS THEIR COMMUNITIES IS PERFECT AND SAFE FROM CRIMES LIKE RAPE. BUT TO ME THE BIGGEST ROLE THEY SHOULD PLAY IS NOT GIVE UP BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE NOT WILLING TO SUPPORT YOU, DON'T GIVE UP IF PEOPLE TURN THE OTHER CHEEK AND RIP DOWN YOUR POSTERS, BECAUSE THERE WILL BE SOME SURVIVOR OUT THERE PRAYING YOU WOULDN'T GIVE UP BECAUSE YOU ARE SERCETLY GIVING THEM COURAGE TO GO ON WITH THEIR LIVES
