I THINK IT HAS TO DO WITH MANY DIFFERENT ISSUES LIKE CONTROL ISSUES, PAST HISTORY WITH THEIR FAMILY, I THINK IT ALSO DEPENDS ON IF THEY WERE RAPE BUT I KNOW THAT IT RARELY HAS TO DO WITH BEING HORNY
I think that rapist rape people because they are weak people they do it because they want to feel like they have some sort of power but in reality they are just weak punks.
I think that people that rape do it to gain power. They may not be mentally balanced and have unresolved issues from their past that they need to have resolved
Rapists commit this horrible act for numerous reasons. Perhaps it's a way of dealing with or confronting an unresolved negative childhood experience, or maybe it's a way to feel powerful; to feel in control. I don't believe that rapists rape because they want to have sex. I believe that it is something deeper; something that deals with the psyche; a yearning for acceptance, acknowledgement, fulfillment.
I don't know the answer to this question but for sure rapists have probably been victim or witness to violence and/or sexual violence in childhood. Feelings of inadequacy and powerlessness then gets manifest in the only way they think they can feel power, through violence. However, I wonder (and ask anyone out there) if there are different underlying causes for different kinds of rapes like marital rape, child rape, war time rape, date rape, etc. I mean, the systematic raping going on in Darfur is clearly connected to an overall environment of war violence and degradation of women as property.
One of the main reasons people rape is to gain control over someone.Rape does not always have to be physical, it can be mental, and also emotional. The image that has been portrayed of people who rape is that they have some kind of issue with themselves so they use rape to gain power and self confidence. I think people who rape have serious problems and need to get help before it's too late.
I think the reason why people rape is the fact that they may be obsessed with sex and obsess about
the women that they cannot have as partners.
guys just need sex more often than girls do.
i think the answer to this question is as follows, rapist can be both males and females. Rapist rape for the rush; having that inch of control over others. rapist rape because of childhood situations and also because its there only way of expressing their anger or feeling in general

I never quite knew the answer to this question but I'm sure it has to deal to psychological problems a person might have. I don't think a sane person would commit such an act of pain and violence, only someone who is mentally ill would.
I think they are various reasons why rapist rape, I think some do it because they enjoy seeing the pain in other people's eyes when they take things by force it can be a result of something that happened in there past
there are many reasons for such an act, most often psychological. as many of the blogs have stated, the reasons may include (but are not limited to) childhood issues, need for power (which for many the struggle alone is a turn on), sometimes they already have a mental image of being with a person (stalkers for example) and the sex is part of their fantasy. overall, there is no one reason- the criminal mind is often as mysterious as it is dangerous.
I agree that rape is mostly about power. What I'm beginning to wonder is if there is a difference amongst people who rape family, friends, their dates, strangers, etc? Is the motive or cause the same for all of these rapists?
